Atom Lantern does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
Atom Lantern is an offline periodic-table reference with element quizzes and a flashcard deck. The pages that follow describe, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with the things you type into it.
None. There is no sign-up, no account and no email field. The one thing you can type is an optional display name for the Profile tab, and it stays on the phone.
For the app to work, the following is kept in the operating system's local storage, on your phone, and nowhere else:
None of it is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes every byte.
None. The release build declares no Android permissions — not even internet access — and the iOS build has no usage descriptions, so you are never prompted for anything. (Debug and profile builds add INTERNET so a developer can attach a debugger; those are never published.)
Atom Lantern never goes online. It contains no HTTP client or networking library; every element, fact and question is compiled into the app, and it behaves the same in airplane mode.
No third-party services are integrated: no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no cloud backend. The app uses open-source Flutter packages for local storage (Hive, shared_preferences), charts, state management, date formatting and a confetti effect — none of them talk to a server.
Atom Lantern is suitable for all ages, including students. It collects nothing, sends nothing and shows no ads or user-generated content, so there is no personal data from a child to receive. That is consistent with COPPA and with the GDPR rules on children’s data.
Everything lives on your device. You can see and change your name, stats and settings inside the app; uninstalling it (or clearing its storage in Android Settings → Apps → Atom Lantern) deletes all of it. There is no server-side copy to request or erase.
If anything in this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be revised, and material changes will appear in the app's release notes.
